JLY EMPOWERS 2019
The Junior League of Yakima’s JLY EMPOWERS is back for its 4th year and will be held on April 13, 2019 from 9am-1pm.
Join us as we and community volunteers and sponsors come together to complete service projects benefiting local non-profit organizations across the Yakima Valley.
Current volunteer opportunities for JLY EMPOWERS include projects at the following locations:
The Salvation Army – Thrift store organizing and sorting
Children’s Village – TBD
La Casa Hogar - Painting
Yakima Union Gospel Mission – Assist with Youth Football Combine at Madison House
YWCA – Beautification
People for People’s Meals-on-Wheels – Deep clean walk in coolers
Yakima Area Arboretum – Assist with Arbor Day Community event
Yakima Greenway Foundation – TBD
Habitat for Humanity – Home Build in Granger
Rod’s House – Cleaning, sorting, organizing
Registration is $5.00 this year and the 1st 100 Volunteers get a free waterbottle with flip straw.
Participants are welcome to join us at a Kickoff breakfast at 8:00 AM at Chesterley Park, 3606 River Road, Yakima, WA 98902.
In addition to being an opportunity to give back to the community, JLY EMPOWERS serves as a fundraising event for the Junior League of Yakima. Proceeds will go towards furthering the League's mission, including leadership training for women, funding the Junior League of Yakima's community projects, and providing assistance grants to other organizations.
Participants are encouraged to obtain pledges of financial support for their time worked. Ask your friends and family to get involved to support you and this great cause!
